The Dwellings

It was in my early teenage years when I built myself a shelter in the dense south german woods. It was a place full of freedom. When I came back, years after, I found my shelter beeing a small storage for the forester’s wood, and I was happy…

Similarly, Ellie Davies is exploring the changing relationship to built structures within the forest landscape in order to examine the notion that we use landscape to find a sense of our identity.

Maybe it’s just a general primal urge to mingle with nature.

Semence.Boutique

Last week Semence.Boutique launched it’s new Online Boutique and Internet Gallery which is representing uprising designers including two of our favorite designs made in Vienna.

Semence.Boutique is giving a special focus on the support of emerging contemporary fashion design, offering the possibility of experiencing and purchasing unique pieces of new generation high fashion labels.

Great to have platforms who value the individual artistic quality of those young labels who are in the beginning to step into the market!

Distorted Mirror

Now and then everyone has dreams in which famous people appear.
The ‘Distorted Mirror’ project is a growing archive of reports, comics and graphic materials that visualize encounters between you and famous persons, places and fictional characters in your deepest dreams and collective subconsciousness.

Feel free to contribute at this wonderful project. Authors are submitting their work from different parts all over the world.

Visit the Distorted Mirror comics anthology here and join the exhibition at Vienna’s Fluc Wanne on June 30.

Diego Gravinese

Diego Gravinese’s photorealistic paintings are simply superb!

Sarah Duncan

Sara Duncan is living and working in Austin, Texas. Through her images, she tries to confront a higher reality to the limitations of art, literally the inner, microscopic and outer space, somewhere far and idyllic.

Lieblingsflohmarkt #4

Come to the next Lieblingsflohmarkt at Vienna’s new bar ‘If Dogs Run Free’
I will be selling some stuff as well.
See you there.

Some Windy Trees

Still one of my favorite photo series by V.D. (aka Vincent Delbrouck)
He has a very nice blog, too

Osaka based artist Onishi Yasuaki used black glue, plastic sheets and nylon thread for his space-defying mountainous form. He is fascinated by the invisible like time, air and gravity and so is his current installation ’reverse of volume RG’ he is exhibiting at Rice Galley in Houston, Texas – fascinating and extraordinary.

Terra

Alex Grein´s pictures remind of Caspar David Friedrich´s early romantic landscape paintings, but actually are made of numerous fragments and sections of satellite pictures found on Google Earth.
She is born in Cologne 1983 and was part of the exhibition ‘State of the Art Photography’ at NRW- Forum in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Femme Maison AW 12/13

Again Franziska Fürpaß, our favorite designer behind the label ‘Femme Maison
launched a beautiful Autum / Winter collection, whose strong colors, winding draped fabrics and sculptural shapes are matched superbly and explore the idea of covering the body as a landscape – it’s an explode on the women´s body. The collection represents a visual approach to Sir Frederic Leighton and Dante Rosselini´s paintings „Flaming June“ and by covering the body as a landscape she explores the many interprations of housing in relationship of it’s surroundings.

Maximilian Pramatarov

Lenticular images on aludibond by Sofia born and Vienna based media artist Maximilian Pramatarov. Very Nice!!

‘The army of luck’ by Boris Petrovsky
